Primary and secondary students explored their creativity and came up with more than 100 entries for the second Inter-School Competition on Stamp Exhibits.

The competition, organised by Hongkong Post and co-organised by the Education Department, aimed to enhance students' interest in making stamp exhibits and to promote philately.

A stamp exhibit is a collection of stamp products comprising narrative descriptions on a thematic basis. Besides the variety of stamps, stamp handling techniques, knowledge, quality and appearance are also emphasised in stamp exhibits.

'By producing stamp exhibits, students can enrich their knowledge of philately as well as broaden their horizons by exploring culture and history both locally and globally,' Postmaster-General Luk Ping-chuen said at the prize presentation ceremony.

He said creating stamp exhibits could also strengthen students' presentation and writing skills.

Workshops on making stamp exhibits were organised earlier to equip students and teachers with the skills and knowledge for producing their own stamp exhibits.

Fourth former Lee Ling-shan, from Ying Wa Girl's School, won the championship in Class C (students aged 16 or above) of the competition. Her winning entry was based on the theme 'Money'.
