A Hong Kong fish-breeder is angling for a place in The Guinness Book of Records with a 1.54kg goldfish he believes is the heaviest ever.
Lee Tak-sun's challenge comes a month after another Hong Kong fish-breeder announced his bid to seek a placing for his 37.2cm goldfish called Bruce, which was bred on a farm in Dongguan, as the world's longest.
Mr Lee, 42, said his fish, named Pin Day Kam or 'full of gold', was shorter at 30.5cm but definitely heavier.
He said that Bruce and Pin Day Kam could not be compared as his was a much rarer feat.
'The one bred in the mainland is a Red Oranda, born with a long tail which makes it not surprising that it is so long,' he said.
'But Pin Day Kam has a short tail, and it is very rare for it to grow this big.'
