THERE ARE HUNDREDS of different types of psychics and as many ways of analysing our lives and looking into the future. No one method is the right way, or the only way - and you can take each as far as you want, using it simply to find out what academic subjects you will excel at or to find a deeper spiritual meaning in your life. The key for anyone seeking to explore their Psychic Portal is to find a method they feel comfortable with.
Most people have heard of palm readers and tarot card readers - they are the bread and butter of the psychic world. But less well known is Spiritual Response Therapy (SRT).
Developed in the 1980s by Rev Robert Detzler - counsellor, teacher, author, and ordained minister - it is a relatively new method. And it does take what, for some, may be a huge leap of faith.
SRT assumes reincarnation: that we have lived many lives before this one. If this is too much to swallow, then SRT is not for you. But it is possible to have an SRT session without believing in reincarnation and just go to see what comes up without questioning where it comes from.
SRT is a system which involves researching the subconscious mind and beyond - past lives - to find out what is holding a person back and to replace that belief or programme with a positive and supportive idea. As an example, Rev Detzler claims one client came to him with extreme breathing difficulties (she took asthma medication five times a day). When he researched her past lives, he discovered she had died in fires in 2,689 of those lives. By clearing her fear - of death by asphyxiation - he cured her asthma.
One of the few people doing SRT in Hong Kong is Jenny Kakulu Kam. She learned the method from one of Rev Detzler's books, Soul Re-Creation: Developing Your Cosmic Potential. The system basically involves using a pendulum, a set of charts, and a specific series of questions to delve into the subconscious mind.
