Chance to meet national athletes

Do you want to get a glimpse of how Chinese national athletes are preparing for next year's Athens Olympics? Now there is a chance.

You can join a 10-day winter camp, which is co-organised by the top mainland sports authority - the Training Bureau of the State Sports General Administration of China - and Felicitas, an after-school education company.

The camp will take you to the Chinese National Sports Training Centre in Beijing, where some of the Chinese Olympics delegates are training.

The camp, open to all Hong Kong students aged over 14 and who are interested in sports, will be held at the centre from December 26 to January 4. Felicitas director Lee Chui-inn said the training centre, which is the nurturing ground of famous national sports stars such as Yao Ming and Fu Mingxia, is only open to international sports officials and athletes.

Participants will have a chance to see national teams train and meet the athletes.

They will also receive training from national coaches, attend seminars hosted by sports experts and visit the venue of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
