Michael Lau Kin-man, Eric So and Brothersfree are the hottest names in toy design, but a group of up-and-coming young designers are vying to take the spotlight.
Their innovative ideas will be on display at the HK Indesigner Fest which opens at the LCX shopping mall in Tsim Sha Tsui today.
Among the designers featured are Steven Lee Kwan-lok, PAL Wong and Danny Chan Sing-leong.
Lee, 30, the man behind the Snorty & Friends action figure series - a story about a piglet who is looking for his lost parents - said: 'A group of new designers have been doing some good work which has been very well-received.
'But people are only familiar with famous names since they haven't had a chance to see the creations of the new designers.'
Lee, who graduated from the First Institute of Art and Design in 1995, started his career as a toy designer and illustrator. Driven by his love for toys, he launched his action figure series three years ago.
