YUE HWA CHINESE Products Emporium employees were double winners in the Service and Courtesy Awards, taking the Junior Frontline and Supervisory Level awards in the Department Store category.

Samantha Yiu Yin-man, Yue Hwa Chinese Products Emporium sales assistant and Robert Law Chi-fung, Yue Hwa deputy department head, said teamwork was crucial to performing their jobs effectively. They said being part of a team allowed them to quickly learn service and courtesy skills, develop confidence and product knowledge.

'This is my first full-time job after graduating from Form Seven. I find working for a company that offers structured training and a clear career advancement system has helped me adjust quickly to the working environment and certainly offers promising opportunities for career development,' Ms Yiu said.

Winning the Junior Frontline award motivated her to try even harder to deliver outstanding customer service.

She said that as the definition of good customer service often changed, she maintained her high standards by listening and learning.

'I listen to what customers say and react to their requests. In doing so, I have been able to learn about products from customers as well as my colleagues. I believe that if I keep on learning it will not be difficult to deliver outstanding customer service which can go beyond customers' expectations,' Ms Yiu said.
