Developers to release Hunghom documents and letters: Suen
Updated at 5.41pm: Two developers of Hunghom Peninsula have agreed to release letters and documents on the controversial deal to the Legislative Council, Secretary for Housing, Planning and Lands Michael Suen Ming-yeung said on Thursday.
The move came after growing public concern over plans to demolish seven new blocks in Hunghom. This has outraged green groups and activists.
Mr Suen said he welcomed New World Development and Sun Hung Kai Properties disclosing details on the subject.
'It enables us a chance to hand over the correspondence to the Housing Panel of the Legislative Council so that members of the panel can see for themselves the content of the exchange of documents,' he explained.
'They can understand whether some of the points which are bothering them are given a clear explanation in the series of correspondence,' Mr Suen added.
He believed the letters and documents could be released in a few days.
