New Year's Eve is fast approaching, so now's the time for emergency post-Christmas repairs. And there's no better way to do that than to take advantage of the sales' bargains.
Mud sticks
Italian beauty company Borghese has come up with a home spa experience. Its Brightening Mud ($396/500g - above) contains mineral-enriched volcanic mud from the popular Montecatini Terme spa in Italy. With exotic sounding ingredients such as citrus unshiu peel extract, the fast-absorbing pinkish mask is designed to penetrate the skin layers for rehydration and nourishment. Available at Borghese counters in larger Watsons stores. Inquiries: 2850 8788
Makes scents
Many beauty companies have responded to the increasing popularity of holistic health by introducing skincare ranges catering to those hooked on essential oils. Paris-based group Darphin has added two new aroma-care products to its line. Formulated for mature skin, Jasmine Aromatic Care ($885) and Myrrh Aromatic Care ($465) are designed to be first inhaled, before applying five drops to your face. Massage lightly in a downward and outward motion, then follow with your favourite cream. The jasmine-based scent is said to improve cellular growth. Available from Lane Crawford Pacific Place, Causeway Bay and Tsim Sha Tsui.
