CitySeen has a tip for guys searching for a perfect time and place to pop the question to their girlfriend - in a hot air balloon on Valentine's Day with the Hong Kong skyline in the background. She'll have nowhere to run.
The Hong Kong Harbour Balloon Safari will be held on the harbour front at West Kowloon from February 4 to March 31. A tethered balloon will go up about 33 metres - double the height of the balloon ride at Victoria Park in 2003.
Those who manage to time their visit at 8pm can also enjoy the Tourism Board's multimedia laser show from a unique perspective.
Each balloon can carry about 10 passengers and each experience will last for about 20 minutes - including an eight-minute flight briefing session, photograph-taking and the flight itself.
'We haven't actually had anyone propose in the balloon before,' said organiser Alexander Bent. 'But this time it will be very different from Victoria Park. The harbour is much more romantic, and for Valentine's Day you could have the balloon for just yourself and one other person. You'll also get a bottle of champagne.'
