Most people have heard of Lily of the Valley, but you may not know the history of the name. French folklore has it that in the sixth century a brave knight killed a dragon in the forest, and the lilies grew where his blood dropped. The tale is celebrated on May 1 - supposedly the first spring day a lily grew - and in France the flower is given to friends and family to wish them luck. Crabtree and Evelyn has released a range of fragrances and bath potions to celebrate the popular flower. A bath and shower gel is $225/250ml, with a body lotion at $235/250ml and an eau de parfum selling for $495/50ml. The light, summery scent - said to be effortlessly sweet for the chic and elegant - is ideal for the warmer weather. Available from Crabtree and Evelyn stores in Pacific Place, the Landmark, Times Square, Jusco and Festival Walk. Philip B Nordic Wood one-step hair and body shampoo is on sale at Joyce boutiques. The hair group says the range is infused with aromatherapy and essential oils to create an uplifting and healing bath experience. The products contain balsam fir, cedarwood, white pine, Norwegian spruce and white camphor oils. Philip B started his career by making home remedies for clients with dry scalps. He shopped for the finest ingredients at the local farmer's market and herb shops, eventually not being able to keep up with the demand. The Nordic range sells for $70 for two ounces or $390 for 12 ounces. Additional reporting by Lauren Crothers
