Ku's comic book caper
No one can have everything they wish for in life and that's certainly the case for Canto-pop singer and comic book artist Leo Ku Kui-kei.
Despite being an avid comic book fan and artist, Ku, 32, hasn't had time to release his latest comic creations because of his demanding music schedule.
Since last year, Ku has devoted most of his time to promoting his music and preparing for the sold-out debut concerts at the Hong Kong Coliseum in March. Ku's alien-like comic book character, Kubi, has been put on the backburner, with his third book being postponed despite the successful release of the first two books over the past two years.
'The plan was to release the third episode of Kubi during this summer's Comic Festival, but I really haven't got time,' says Ku, named best singer in local music awards this year.
He also postponed plans for a series of educational animation films and CDs based on Kubi.
Ku is now working on his new Cantonese and Putonghua albums, to be released later this year, and a new movie that starts production in two months. He also provides the voice of a robot in the Cantonese version of the 20th Century Fox animation movie, Robots.
