Columbian songstress Shakira has released Fijacion Oral Vol 1, her latest Spanish album that will be followed up with English-language Oral Fixation 2 in November.

Fijacion Oral is full of intensity and rhythm. Dance tune Las de la Intuicion is a bouncy hit reminiscent of Cher's disco hit Believe.

Two versions of La Pared (The Wall) are featured on the album. The acoustic version - which is featured as a bonus track - is impressive.

Shakira also delivers a few sappy love songs. Dia de Enero (Day of January) and Lo Imprescindible (The Essential Thing) are filled with passion.

Even if you don't understand Spanish, the emotions that brim from her voice provide the right mood for each song.

The CD comes with a bonus DVD which features the La Tortura music video. It was the first Spanish language video to receive regular rotation on MTV and VH-1. Disappointingly, it lacks the taste and class that accompanies good music.
