Blemishfree is a new product from Australian cosmeceutical brand Skin Doctors, designed to be used daily - particularly during the humid summer months - by those with acne-prone skin. The kit includes an exfoliating cleanser, oil minimiser, pore-minimising cream, toner and overnight zit zapper for $499 (down from the original price of $1,000). The cleanser and toner are said to slough off dead skin cells, the pore minimiser smooths the appearance of large pores and the zapper has been 'scientifically developed' to remove oil and cleanse skin over eight hours. Intensive sunbathing, exposure to wind and sea or chlorinated water can damage your hair. Help protect your locks with the Phytoplage range, which includes three treatment formulas and three repairing and moisturising treatments. The Protective Beach Spray ($140) contains UV filters and UVB polymer extract, olive oil, rosemary and willow extracts, and aims to nourish the hair and preserve colour. The Protective Sun Veil ($140) forms an invisible screen designed to prevent drying by the sun. The Protective Styling Gel ($160) is a plant- based moisturising gel created to hydrate and protect from chlorine, wind, sun and salt. It's non-greasy. Phyto also has a hair and body wash ($140), and after-sun repair mask ($170) and after-sun mist (left, $170). Available from Watsons, Festival Walk and the Image Centre, Times Square.
Dior Addict's Plastic Gloss (above) looks like its namesake after a single application. The 'lacquer complex' combines polymers to amplify shine and fine oils to create the wet look. The gloss comes in 11 shades. Available for $165 each from all Christian Dior counters.
Fresh has a new makeup colour range that it says will also benefit the skin. The Gloss Absolute ($180) gives shine to lips and works to hydrate and plump. The glosses contain shea butter, jojoba oil and vitamin E, and come in portable compact tubs. The Carnivale Eye Shadow Palette ($420) features six new shadows in a compact case. Fresh says Polynesian pearls add shimmer and hydration while antioxidant green tea extracts 'fight ageing'. The Here Comes the Sun Face Palette ($420) contains a bronzer and blush and has a smooth, soft finish. The range is available from Lane Crawford IFC and Seibu, Causeway Bay.
Clinique has introduced a new anti-blemish concealer that works to combat spots while also covering them up. It aims to remove surface bacteria, control oil and also exfoliate clogged pores. Clinique says 'soft focus' technology results in light-deflection on imperfections and blemishes. It's available in three shades and comes in a twist-up applicator to allow easier, precise application on spots. Available for $130 from all Clinique counters and boutiques. There's also a new Moisture Surge Refreshing Eye Gel (far left, $220), an oil-free gel to calm, cool and refresh the area. The 'non-creeping' formula contains moisture-binding polymers and polysaccharides (sugars), which are said to help balance skin cells. It can be used under makeup or as a pampering mask under eyes.
