Everybody loves free trips. VIPs and celebrities are no exception. Earlier this month, PR maven Margery Au led a small group on a promo excursion to the Micronesian island of Palau. If the location rings a bell, it was used for a recent series of the reality show Survivor.

Unlike the TV tribes though, the guests on this jaunt, including actress Cecilia Yip Tung, restaurateur Patrick Leong and model Rosemary Vandenbroucke, didn't have to sleep on the beach or eat bugs. Although they did apparently enjoy a bat soup ('it tasted like chicken,' says Au). The trip was sponsored by Palau tourism and a new airline. Outdoors enthusiasts like Yip and her husband Louis Tan (pictured above with Vandenbroucke, centre), even stayed an extra week. 'They have some world-class diving sites with some sunken planes from the second world war. But the speed boats were sometimes rough and some people basically wrapped themselves in large plastic bags to brave the elements,' says Tan. Sounds like prime candidates to vote off at the next tribal council.
