What is it?

The only Vichy dermo-cosmetics concept store in the world. Pharmacists analyse  your  skin condition  and devise a personalised skincare regime.

What is Vichy?

A European skincare brand sold in pharmacies since 1931. It's available at more than 60,000 pharmacies in 63 countries. But Hong Kong will be the only place  with a  Vichy store.   The store managers will be  pharmacists.

How will they analyse skin?

The managers will  do a seven-step  analysis using UV cameras and  the sort of diagnostic machines used by dermatologists.

What about the products?

They're all allergy-tested, and suitable for sensitive skin. Many of the ingredients are from the thermal waters of Vichy in France, which are said to soothe and stimulate the skin's defence systems.  Ingredients include procystein, which  helps reduce melanin production, and zincadone A, which is said to reduce skin imperfections.  Vichy products have never been available in Hong Kong until now.

Why open  in Hong Kong?

Brand manager Janet He says Hongkongers  will like the dermo-cosmetic approach because  they appreciate professional  brands. 'Unfortunately, the current market  offerings are limited in their ability to meet consumer interest and expectations,' she says.

How much do the products cost?

The average price is about $200.  Key products include the Thermal Fix Fluid with SPF20 for $220, Normaderm hydration care for $170 and Bi-white Advanced fluid for $300. Basic cleaning products are from $150-$170.

What do the UV cameras do?

Checks deep layers of the skin  for signs of photo-ageing.
