Ritz and glitz for street carnival
The Lan Kwai Fong Street Carnival is back. For the fourth year running, the LKF Group will bring a little bit of Rio heat to Hong Kong next weekend, with samba sounds and Brazilian delights for the whole family, chairman Allan Zeman announced at a press conference.
Besides the usual parade of sexy Brazilian girls, African drummers, clowns, jugglers and acrobats, party goers can also check out 80 booths and stalls offering snacks, drinks, fake tattoos and face painting. Proceeds will go to the Joyful Mental Health Foundation.
'We have different entertainment every hour, and 80 per cent of the performers will be different from last year,' Mr Zeman said
He said Jackie Chan would drop by on the eve of the big party on Friday afternoon to kick off the event.
Then, to demonstrate the hedonistic spirit of the carnival, Mr Zeman, ever the showman, got off the podium to wind and grind with the Brazilian dancers.
Still wearing his gold lame hat, he said: 'Bring your family. Bring your friends. Just enjoy the fun here.'
