Hot Latin dancers to lure Hongkongers

Latin fever is set to sweep Hong Kong this month as two festivals, Latin America 2005 and the Latin Passion Festival, will run from now to November 20. Both events kicked off at a party on Tuesday night at Lumiere Restaurant highlighted by three pairs of sizzling tango dancers.

Discussing the performers, the consul-general of Mexico, Mario Leal, one of six consuls from Hispanic countries present, emphasised one discipline. 'When you talk about Latin America, the first thing you think of is probably our dance, one of the most excellent symbols of our Latin culture.' However, the marketing-savvy consul was quick to add: 'That's why Hongkongers should come to Latin America. You will enjoy our art and fascinating scenery, and we will get more business.'
