La Mer The Essence
What is it?
If you have $18,000 to spare, this could be the treatment for you. The only problem is that you have to be invited to buy it.
What's so good about it?
The Max Huber Research Labs have created a new essence. While working as a Nasa aerospace scientist, Huber stumbled on an algae-based ingredient that he realised had de-ageing potential. Supposedly, it uses the 'unique power' of mariponics to grow and nurture the ingredients. The resulting elixir is said to create a virtual cocoon, protecting skin from external influences. The skin then naturally heals itself over the course of 21 days.
What's in the vials?
First is the Dormancy Ferment, which contains narcissus, derived from a bulb that hibernates in winter. The second element is the Mariponic Ferment, which is a cumulation of sea plants grown under controlled conditions. The sponge-like sea algae is said to trigger a burst of metabolic activity to replenish skin. Lastly is the Miracle Broth, containing sea kelp, calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, lecithin, vitamins C, E and B12, citrus, eucalyptus and wheat germ. The ingredients are fermented for three months. The normal Creme de la Mer on shelves contains Miracle Broth, but this is said to be in its purest form.
Why can't we buy it off the shelves?
