Their women's choir belted out old disco hits, and their youth choir sang movie theme songs. Now local musical organisation Katterwall, which runs the Kassia women's and youth choirs, has started a men's singing group.
The Kassia Male Chorus will debut by performing Christmas tunes for their first concert. Strictly speaking though, it won't be all Yuletide chestnuts when they sing at the Fringe Club on December 12.
Musical director Bethan Greaves (pictured) will also have the lads crooning Robbie Williams and Josh Groban as well as Perry Como and Bing Crosby standards.
'I had so many requests from men who'd enjoyed concerts by our women's choir that I decided to set up a men's choir. We held auditions and found 16 men who love to croon, including doctors, teachers and businessmen.'
Luckily, they have no plans to do a choral tribute to the Village People yet. Tickets for the Kassia Men's Chorus premiere concert 'White Christmas' are $150 and available at the Fringe or from HK Ticketing.
