What is it?
It sounds like something you'd get at the physiotherapist's, but this is a spa treatment at Xin Desire (Xin means heart) in Causeway Bay: this time, however, the back gets the attention.
What does it entail?
After lying down on the massage table, your back is cleansed and scrubbed, then massaged by the therapist. She was professional, but I felt the pressure could have been harder at times. After the oil is washed away, she applies a mask that's left on for 10 minutes. This is then removed with hot towels and moisturiser is rubbed in.
What was good about it?
The spa is just two months old so everything is in tip-top shape. It's modern, peaceful, and stocks some of the best skincare products around - Thalgo, Sundari, Guinot - which meant my skin really was softer afterwards. The skin on my shoulders was feeling a little
