Singer Joey Yung Cho-yee has said goodbye to her closest working partner and manager Mani Fok Man-hei - well, for three months, anyway.

The entertainment manager left for the US earlier this week for a three-month study course.

When Yung (above) made her acceptance speech after being named most popular female singer at TVB's JSG 10 Golden Songs Awards, she said Fok was the most influential woman in her life, apart from her mother.

'I'll miss her [Fok] - I've been so used to have her taking care of me and being next to me,' said the singer, after attending Fok's farewell party in Macau. 'When she's here, she handles the press for me and I can relax. Now, I need to be more independent.'

This is the third consecutive year Yung has won the award from the local TV station. 'I don't know if I can win this award next year. It will be much harder, but I'll try my best,' said the 25-year-old, who also won the best female singer gold award at this year's Commercial Radio Ultimate Chart Awards.

The singer's latest release, Reflection of Joey's Life 2005, comprises live recordings of her concerts at the Coliseum last year. So far, it has sold more than 80,000 copies.
