1. Kiehl's Epidermal Re-Texturising Micro-Dermabrasion ($385) contains micronised shells and willow herb, said to have a skin-smoothing effect if used tri-weekly. Over time, the company claims, facial lines will be reduced. It's available from Kiehl's stores in The Landmark and on Russell Street, Causeway Bay.

2. Crabtree & Evelyn's Lavender Body Cream ($325) is a thick, lightly scented moisturiser with essential oils and is best used daily on slightly damp skin. Available from Crabtree & Evelyn stores, including those in The Landmark, Central; Pacific Place, Admiralty; Sogo; and Times Square, Causeway Bay.

3. LancerX Facial Wash ($550) is quick and easy to use and has a silky, creamy texture that makes skin feel clean without drying it out. The American brand was created by Harold Lancer, a dermatologist who is said to have treated the world's most famous faces. The cleanser comes in a set called The Glow ($2,200), which includes a polish, moisturiser and sunscreen. It's available from Joyce stores.

4. Cowshed's Nourishing Body Cream ($280) is made by hand, using organic plant oils and herbal essences grown in the grounds of Babington House, an upmarket spa retreat in rural Britain. The bovine reference comes from the fact the goods are made in a converted cow shed. Available from Lane Crawford stores.
