After months of non-stop filming, Karena Lam Ka-yan finally got to take a month-long holiday. The actress went back to Canada to spend the Lunar New Year with her family. 'I had a marathon working schedule,' the 27-year-old said. 'But after a month off, I'm looking forward to getting back to work.' Lam (right) has been nominated for the best actress award at this year's Hong Kong Film Awards for her part in Soi Cheang Po-sui's thriller Home Sweet Home. In it she plays a woman who turns into a grotesque recluse after the tragic loss of her family. Her role in Wong Jing-po's gangster movie, Ah Sou, also won her a best supporting actress nomination. Lam said that, while on holiday, she did nothing but drive, read and watch films. She took a copy of Home Sweet Home to Canada, but her older sister cried after seeing her look so disfigured, she said.
