Lierac has launched an anti-ageing, hydration skin-care line, Hydra-Chrono, which boasts an aqua-pump process. The technology 'works like a hydraulic pump' to help restore and reactivate the skin's irrigation system. It's based on two ingredients: red micro-algae that works to help restore the skin deep down; and a natural amino acid called TMG that helps the skin trap moisture and redistribute it to the epidermis. Also, there's a moisturising complex, NMG, and botanical oils of apricot and safflower, rich in essential fatty acids that benefit all skin types. The Hydra-Chrono range includes Comfort Cream for Dry Skin ($420/40ml) and Intense Cream for Very Dry Skin ($420/40ml - far right. Available from Watsons, Festival Walk, and the Capital Centre, Causeway Bay.

Herrera Acqua's new men's fragrance (left) has notes of citrus, sea mist, frosted bergamot, zesty mandarin, fig leaf, bamboo leaf and base notes of amber, musk and vetvier. The bottle's design is simple, with translucent glass that contrasts with the silver diffuser, giving it a masculine appeal. The eau de toilette is $560/100ml, or $390/50ml. An after-shave lotion ($340/100ml), after-shave balm ($340/100ml) and a deodorant stick ($160/75g) are also available. From Sogo, Causeway Bay, and shop 1060, IFC Mall.

Melonhead is a Canadian range of chemical-free hair products for children. Local distributor Jennifer Debow found that shampoos and hair products in Hong Kong exacerbated her daughter's eczema and irritated her skin. Debow says many hospitals no longer use mainstream shampoos on children because of the risk of skin irritations, and use organic or natural products instead. 'There's no petrolatum or mineral oil,' says Debow. 'This product is great for people with allergies. It's tearless, and made with botanical extracts, fruit acids and wheat proteins. It's biodegradable and not tested on animals. You can wash with it every day.' All products - such as Buckaroo Banana Shampoo (left) - are $135. Available from the American Club, Hong Kong Yacht Club, and the Firm in Central. Inquiries: www.melonheadasia.com

Carita has introduced three Pearl of Youth products containing calcium (essential to the skin's metabolism and promotes cell renewal) and conchiolin (the organic basis of molluscs, including pearls), which provides skin with amino acids for the 'ideal' level of moisture, and natural sea minerals, extracted from sea water. The range is said to firm, tone and smooth the skin. Pearl of Youth, Pearl of Youth Nutritive (left) and Pearl of Youth Night are all $1,520/50ml. Available from Seibu, Pacific Place.
