If you thought flashy jewellery was just for royalty, rappers and tai-tais, you'd be wrong, according to Hollywood-based Loree Rodkin, who is proclaimed the rock 'n' roll jewellery designer. Her chunky, handcrafted jewellery mixes modern with medieval and are favourites with stadium stars from Cher to Madonna, Jon Bon Jovi to Aerosmith. 'Stephen Tyler actually told me that he only started feeling like a true rock star once he started wearing my jewellery,' Rodkin bragged to us at her Lane Crawford launch at Pacific Place last Thursday. 'But I started designing for myself more than anything else, and I still do.' Well, it was hardly a Marilyn Manson crowd at the frou-frou cocktail event. One notable music-lover present was the model Rosemary Vandenbroucke, who has recorded an album. However, we're hesitant to say she actually, um, rocks.
