Let's face it, the air's worse

Even after just a few days, beauty brand Elemis co-founder Noella Gabriel has noticed the air in Hong Kong has worsened since her last trip to the city 10 years ago. The beautician is visiting to promote a new eye cream - and already she feels that her skin is more dull, oily and congested.

'The environment is far more polluted now,' Ms Gabriel said. 'The pollutants create more oil secretions and people's skin looks much duller and lacks radiance.' Plus, the weather has not helped. 'High humidity indeed takes water out from your skin ... I experienced three different types of weather in a day. First it rains, then the heat makes you feel like you're in a steamed bathroom before the sun comes out.'

No doubt, Ms Gabriel can recommend an expensive, revitalising cream to clear away all the problems.
