Among the victims of the airport chaos last weekend was mixmaster DJ Shadow (below). Originally, the turntablist was supposed to play a party last Friday evening, but those plans were thwarted. After enduring a 12-hour delay on his flight from Singapore, Shadow (real name Josh Davis) and his crew managed to arrive in town early on Friday morning. But unfortunately none of their equipment was on the flight, so Friday's show had to be cancelled.
However, the DJ didn't want to let his fans down, so the gig was hastily rescheduled for Sunday night at the Western Market. As www.hkclubbing.com's Nick Willsher told us, the show was worth the wait. 'DJ Shadow said from the stage that he was meant to play here during Sars, then his flight gets delayed for Friday, but it's third time lucky as he's finally here,' Willsher recalled. 'However, I don't think the promoter made any money as he had to rent the venue for another night.'
