Testing the Hollywood water

It seems that co-presenting TVB Pearl's Dolce Vita and RTHK's arts programme The Works isn't enough to keep Lorea Solabarrieta occupied.

The budding TV personality is now in Los Angeles, trying to find an agent to test Hollywood's water. And the Spanish-Chinese starlet took a dive into the celebrity deep end last week, after finding herself at a party at Paris Hilton's West Hollywood house.

'It was a birthday party for Brandon Davis, who is Mischa Barton's ex-boyfriend. Mischa was there too,' says Solabarrieta (left) in LA.

'Paris greeted me at the door and was really relaxed. I talked to Nicky [Hilton] as well. Later, I approached her bodyguard about talking to her and he walkie-talkied her down from the second floor. She agreed to do an interview with me as soon as she knew what I did.'

Certainly, there's no better role model for achieving stardom in the absence of any discernible talent. But has being up close and personal with the media diva altered Solabarrieta's perception?

'I do want to pursue a film career, but too bad I don't have a family name to rely on,' she says.
