Filipino liver transplant patient Louie Adrielle Perez and his parents fly back to Manila this morning.

Louie cannot wait to see his three-year-old brother, Lenard, who will be waiting for him at the airport in Manila.

'I want to hug him tight and kiss him. I have missed him,' said the seven-year-old, the second child from the Philippines whose life has been saved by a liver transplant at Queen Mary Hospital.

South China Morning Post readers donated generously to Louie's operation, as non-Hong Kong residents are required to pay a HK$1 million deposit to the hospital.

His parents were short by HK$300,000 when they arrived in early July, despite a two-year coin collection effort, and donations from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes and a US foundation.

'I would like to thank all those who helped me with their donations and prayers. Thank you very much,' Louie said as he showed a thank you card that he had drawn.
