Taiwanese diva Sherry Chang Hui-mei has dismissed rumours that she became engaged while in Hong Kong earlier this week.
The 34-year-old, who was spotted wearing a ring, was representing the Taiwan tourism authority and presenting prizes to winners of a wedding-photo contest.
Although she admitted to being touched by the romantic photos, Chang (right) said she feels no impulse to likewise walk up the aisle and that there's no prospective husband
on the scene.
'I don't think about getting married,' she said. 'I just want to do my job well while occasionally meeting some friends.'
Chang, better known as A-mei, said she's eager to perform in Hong Kong again after a concert four years ago, about the time she made the cover of Time magazine for her influence on the Asian music scene. 'I always hope to come back again, no matter whether it's for a concert or a musical.'
