Paul Wong Koon-chung intends to show that he can still rock after all these years.

The former member of Beyond will appear in his second live show at the Coliseum next week, when he'll team up with versatile musician Jun Kung and other local talents, performing a range of his solo numbers and Beyond classics.

The 42-year-old joined brothers Wong Ka-kui and Wong Ka-keung, and Yip Sai-wing in Beyond in 1985, and has since styled himself as a true rocker, expressing his views about social issues through his music.

After landing a deal with a major record company in 1987, Beyond became the most influential rock band in Hong Kong and the Chinese music scene.

But when Wong Ka-kui died after receiving a serious head injury during a Japanese game show in 1993, Beyond became a trio, with Paul Wong as frontman. The group disbanded after a world tour last year.
