A little thing like cutting her hand on broken dishes is not going to deter Cinzia Maini from showing up at the launch of her own jewellery collection.
The Italian jeweller (pictured) may have had her hand bandaged, but she still looked glamorous at Goccia restaurant on Wednesday.
'I was in the hospital all morning,' Maini explained. 'I told the doctor, please fix my right hand, I need it so much.' That's because every piece of her work is made by hand, using a fine gold-laced fabric she created five years ago working at another company. 'They were not following my ideas so I made my own company. It's woven gold, thinner than hair. I think it's very feminine, romantic and Italian. It was created in my hometown, Vicenza, which is known as the city of gold, so I grew up with gold.'
But since May, Maini and her husband have been living here. 'I like it a lot. We like it at night, going out and seeing still so many people about.'
