What is it?
Doctor's Dermatologic Formula (DDF) was created by dermatologist Howard Sobel in the early 1990s. It has recently re-branded its packaging and introduced new products to gain recognition in Asia and Europe. It's been in Hong Kong for eight years, but is aiming to lift its presence in the skin-care market with new sales points here.
What's the spin?
DDF was one of the first clinical brands, and spokesman Brian Sinder says that DDF combines active ingredients and biochemicals to take a 'holistic approach'. It uses plant-based elements to create products that cleanse, protect and treat. Other ingredients include three types of vitamin C, retinol and an antioxidant plant extract called lutein.
Sinder says that it usually takes a few weeks before you'll see any improvements. 'It's very simple - cleanse, protect and treat,' he says. 'And use a sunscreen.' The sunscreen contains 11 different anti-oxidant ingredients that trigger cells to become more energetic, DD says. The range includes Anti- Ageing Preventative and Restorative, Acne/Blemish, Sensitive/Allergic, Body/Sun and Hyperpigmentation.
