Whispers surrounding what's going on between Leo Ku Kui-kei and his assistant are getting to be a bore, said the singer.
Responding to a photo of the pair on the front of a local magazine reportedly flat-hunting, Ku said he wished the media would focus on his charity work, instead of speculation about his relationship with Lorraine Chan, said to be his girlfriend.
'My parents called after reading the magazine, asking why I hadn't invited them to my wedding banquet,' he said. 'People have been talking about this for years. I've responded to this kind of gossip many times. I think ... the audience is already bored of hearing this.'
The singer (left) held the first fund-raising activity for the Leo Ku Child Medical Fund in Causeway Bay this week. But questions about any forthcoming nuptials threatened to steal the limelight from his efforts to raise the standards of medical care for children in Hong Kong and the mainland.
'I just hope the media will stop taking photos of my assistant,' Ku said. 'I'm a public figure. It's part of my job to have pictures of me taken by the media, but my assistant is a behind-the-scenes person.'
Ku hopes to raise cash from the sale of 4,000 charity packs, which consist of such items as an album and a scarf featuring Kubi, a comic character he created. 'I like children very much. I hope I can collect more money for the fund and help more children
