Court sentences the former tycoon for drug charges
Bankrupt former playboy-tycoon Louis Lo Siu-fai was handed a suspended jail term in Macau yesterday on drug charges.
As well as the 21-month term suspended for two years, the man once known as 'Whiz Kid Fai' for his business acumen was fined 10,000 patacas.
Lo, 42, who was arrested in January 2005 along with three mainland women in their 20s, pleaded guilty on March 6 to three charges - possessing and selling drugs and possessing drug-taking tools.
The court heard Lo and the women were found in a room at the New Century Hotel in Taipa where there was believed to have been a drug party. A gram of cocaine and tools for drug-taking were found in the room.
A 24-year-old mainland woman, believed to be Lo's girlfriend, and the two others aged 21 and 23 were also arrested for drug-taking.
