He's no Anthony Hopkins, but the new screen Hannibal Lecter was in Hong Kong this week on behalf of Tod's subsidiary line Hogan. French star Gaspard Ulliel, who in Hannibal Rising portrays Lecter in his formative years opposite Gong Li, helped the label open its new Kowloon flagship store on Tuesday. It's not the first time Ulliel has visited Hong Kong though.

'Last time I was here promoting the movie A Very Long Engagement. I was here for four days. This time, I'll only be here for three,' he said. 'I know someone who works for the label in Paris and they said 'Hey, you want to go to this party in Hong Kong and wear this leather jacket inspired by Jack Kerouac and photographer Robert Frank?' They are among my favourite writers and photographers, so I said sure. As for working with Gong Li, she's someone I have admired for a long time.

'Next, I'm going to do a movie in Cambodia. It's a French film.'
