Twenty bunnies hopped over fences and other obstacles in a shopping mall over the Easter holiday.

After three days of training by a pair of professional rabbit hopping masters from Denmark, 20 furry acrobats slogged it out at Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency's 'Easter Rabbit Hopping Competition' in New Town Plaza, Sha Tin, last Sunday.

The athletic bunnies had to jump 11 hurdles within three minutes. The one which finished the route fastest and with the most dexterity was crowned the champion.

At hand on the day were Aase and Rasmus Bjerner, the mother-and-son team of specialist rabbit trainers.

They have trained rabbits to perform hopping stunts for over 10 years, and gave advice to owners on how to keep pets and build up trust with them.

'Rabbits are active and clever animals. Small in size and quiet in nature, they are convenient to keep as pets at home. They are great companions to both children and adults,' said the trainers.
