An exhibition of paintings portraying Hong Kong's vibrant cityscape is being staged to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the handover.
Created by renowned painter Ng Chee-lun, the works capture the diverse attractions of city life. Ranging from crowded streets and busy financial districts to the tranquil countryside, the paintings show Ng's profound love for his hometown.
The soft watercolours used by the painter help blend the people with the city's streets and buildings.
Spanning more than a decade, the paintings illustrate how Hong Kong has evolved since the handover.
'I've lived in Hong Kong for more than 60 years. The energetic people I meet on the street and the crowded cityscape have given me inspiration. I hope visitors can feel the vibrancy and energy of city life from my paintings,' said Ng, who graduated from Hong Kong Fine Art School in 1956.
The exhibition will run until next Wednesday at Wan Fung Art Gallery, G/F Cityplaza Three, Taikoo Shing. For details, call 2736 9623
