Sandra Ng puts motherhood on hold - just for an hour

It has been 10 months since Sandra Ng Kwan-yu gave birth and during that time director Peter Chan Ho-sun's partner has remained a stay-home mum. However, fancy label Miu Miu lured her from her domestic digs on Thursday evening to its One Peking Road shop opening - although very briefly. 'I haven't seen my friends in media and fashion for a long time, so when the label asked if I would come, I said yes - but for one hour only,' Ng said.

One reason why the new mum has stayed out of the spotlight is because she is still trying to get back into her pre-pregnancy figure. 'I'm trying to get my weight down to 110 pounds (50kg). Believe me, it's harder than any film acting job I've done. Actually, I want to have a second child, but so far no luck. That's why I figured I should continue to lose the weight until I get pregnant again. I now can wear some of my old clothes. It's good in that I save money on buying new things in large sizes like 42 or 44.'

Ng is pondering quitting her career. If so, maybe once back in the real world she will realise 42 and 44 are hardly big sizes. 'I haven't thought too much about going back to making films. I'm not sure if I want to do that anymore.'
