He's no longer training for the Olympics but that doesn't mean Australian star swimmer Ian Thorpe isn't involved in some way with the 2008 Games.

Asian Media TV Network is doing a documentary leading up to the Beijing Games and has invited 'Thorpedo' (below) along with another Aussie swimming medallist, Liesel Jones, to be their guest presenters and interviewers.

For the programme, the two world-record-breaking athletes will be coming to Hong Kong, probably around September 22 to 24, to conduct interviews with the likes of local sports chief Timothy Fok Tsun-ting and Jackie Chan (he's related to sports, how?)

Anyway, it seems the two aquatic heroes could be in Hong Kong even longer. Their handlers are putting the word out to local swimming and sports groups about the possibility of organising one-day kids workshops or swimming clinics with Thorpe and Jones, possibly a day or two before their interviews.

Also, it seems the two Olympians are available for commercial appearances - for a fee, of course. Perhaps a swimwear maker wants to do a fashion show in that time? Charitable or other organisations who may be interested in their services can contact Mimi Chau at: [email protected].
