For the next week or so, a part of Chater Garden in Central will be taken over for some very posh partying. The events group IMG has erected a big tent to host fashion shows and promote high-end apparel for something called MasterCard Luxury Week. Starting tonight, they will be hosting cocktails and designer collection shows featuring works from the likes of Calvin Klein, Zac Posen, Vera Wang and Oscar de la Renta. That's good news for the VIPs who now don't have to fly to New York to see these big names. The bad news for the rest of us is that we aren't invited. On the whole, we are a fuzzy about what the point of the week is, but if it's to show off and make everyone else feel jealous, it will probably work. For a more accessible fashion 'show', the Wedding Company and the Grand Hyatt are hosting the Wedding Fair 2007 tomorrow at the classy Wan Chai hotel's ballroom.
