Betty Barclay, one of Germany's top brands in women's fashion, is looking for a sourcing manager to help drive business growth and strengthen the global sourcing platform.

Derwent Executive is handling the search.

The newly created role is 'important to the company because we need someone in Asia to be able to represent us to Europe', Rachel Ta, partner, said.

Reporting to the general manager, the person would work independently, demonstrating initiative and exercising acute project management skills.

'The challenge is being able to work in a setting where you are very independent. It's like running your own business, you must know exactly what is happening all the time and be very resourceful. It is also a new role with no set direction, so that's a challenge as well.'

Working closely with European designer teams and divisional heads, main duties of the job would be searching for new fabrics, styles and trends and making sure quality is upheld with existing suppliers. The sourcing manager must also find new sources and visit fabric mills to collect new products.
