A dazzling array of dizzying distractions to take the edge off Christmas shopping
The IFC mall has some off-the-wall entertainment lined up for the holidays. In addition to their 'suspended' Christmas tree, it's just brought in a five-member acrobatic troupe called Imago Entertainment to entertain shoppers from now until Boxing Day. They will be dangling from the ceiling and performing other eye-catching aerial stunts daily at 12.30pm, 3.30pm and 6.30pm (except on December 19).
'No matter how many times you practise, there is always something unexpected. That's what I enjoy the most about my job,' leader Dylan Philips said during a media presentation yesterday. 'It's difficult with the type of work that we do.'
If you're looking for other wacky entertainment to pass the time while your family is Christmas shopping, Langham Place mall has hired a traditional Chinese music group complete with instruments such as erhu and dizi to play Christmas carols; Elements has the Blue Boys, which are art entertainers that paint themselves completely in blue and interact with shoppers; and the Grand Century Place in Mong Kok has another circus-oriented music group called Strange Fruit for some dazzling distraction. Happy shopping.
