Contest gives undergraduate students the perfect opportunity to improve their job-seeking skills and win an internship
As well as having a good academic background, fresh graduates need to have the right job-hunting skills to help them to secure the job they want. To provide students with a chance to polish their job-hunting and interviewing skills, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Hong Kong organised the 'Job Hunting Competition', open to all undergraduates, except graduating students, from nine local universities.
Launched in Shanghai in 2004, the competition first ran in Hong Kong three years ago. Last year, it received 300 applications.
The competition, also held in Beijing and Guangzhou, aims to create an opportunity for undergraduates to practise their job-hunting skills before entering the real job market.
The application deadline this year is February 4.
Ada Leung Suk-ping, ACCA Hong Kong's head of strategy and development, said: 'The job market is vibrant nowadays and there are more vacancies, especially in the accounting and finance industries. But there is still keen competition for good opportunities. Students should equip themselves with more communication skills, preparing themselves better for the job market.
