Talented and in demand Shu Qi on jury duty for Berlin Film Festival
In contrast to the local stars currently enduring the embarrassment and humiliation of the appearance online of naked and compromising bedroom pictures purporting to be them, one actress shows you can rise far above the smut. Shu Qi might have started her career in racy fashion with some Category III movies and posing a few times au naturel, but the Taiwan-born star has gone a long way. In addition to being the leading lady of choice for numerous acclaimed directors and films, she has now been called up for jury duty. The jury, though, is in Germany.
She will be the sole Asian member of this year's international jury for the Berlin Film Festival, deciding who will take home the Golden Bear and Silver Bears. She will be joined by such cinema lights as French actress Sandrine Bonnaire, Russian producer Alexander Rodnyansky, new Hollywood star Diane Kruger, and director Costa-Gavras, who will serve as jury president.
The festival starts on Thursday.
