Osage Kwun Tong
Ends Mar 9
This exhibition at Osage Kwun Tong is extraordinary not just because it's a new media show - an art form rarely found in local galleries - but because it presents different facets of digital art through works by three artists from Beijing and Hong Kong.
Sensors are involved in most of Jin Jiangbo's works. His Mao Zedong, for example, is an interactive portrait of Mao whose stare follows the visitor and speaks in an unclear voice, through which the artist expresses his hazy impression of China's former chairman.
Qiu Zhijie tackles digital art with computer interface. In his International Airport Republic series, panoramic shots of different airports are presented on computer. The user can jump from one airport to another by clicking on the images, but soon gets confused by their similar architectural styles - a statement on globalisation.
