A local book shop is holding a book report competition to raise students' interest in reading.
Organised by Commercial Press, the 23rd Annual Book Report Competition for Secondary School Students is divided into Chinese and English sections. Both sections are further divided into junior and senior groups.
Students can enrol in either the extensive reading or thematic reading section. The former requires participants to write a book report after finishing a book of their own choice. Participants in the latter have to choose a work from the organiser's book list.
Many of the books on the list are international bestsellers which are popular reads among students.
