It seems our intrepid Tourism Board isn't just working on bringing more mainland tourists here. They're after the world's second-biggest market, too. This week, the board has invited to town the current Miss India, Parvathy Omanakuttan. She'll be experiencing our sights and sounds as part of a junket for the Times Group, India's largest media and entertainment conglomerate. Omanakuttan, along with some journalists, will be taken around a variety of shopping and eating hot spots, including The Peak, the Ladies' Market in Mong Kok, Gough Street's eateries, theme parks and all the Olympic decorations the city has erected to show our excitement about the Games. The Indian beauty, who will compete for the Miss World pageant in the Ukraine in October - no, not in Sanya , although the current title holder, Zhang Zilin , is from the mainland - arrived yesterday and is here until Sunday. She will be documenting her trip on the India Times website in a section called My Secret Addresses in Hong Kong. It's all very PR, so we suspect her visit won't include tandoori chicken and naan at Chungking Mansions.
