What woman doesn't want to look as sexy as Japanese superstar Norika Fujiwara? That's why the town's glamour gals were out in force on Thursday afternoon. Tetsuya Okukawa is reportedly Fujiwara's favourite makeup artist and was holding court at IFC restaurant Lumiere to plug some powder and colour for the brand Ipsa. Even though the weather was still warm enough to melt a face, the topic du jour was how to update your cosmetic pouch for the autumn and winter. While applying colours to shadow a model's eyes and decorating her cheek with fresh cherry-blossom petals for a very Japanese-inspired look, Okukawa's advice for tones this autumn are purple, brown and gold. 'Cosmetic is a women's weapon,' the makeup expert said. 'It enhances their beauty and makes them feel more confident.' Okukawa added that his secret to being a beauty expert is not so pretty. 'You just have to work very, very hard. I am still improving myself every day.' But local supermodel Cara Grogan (pictured kneeling) wasn't looking as far ahead as this autumn's forecast. She was more concerned about last weekend's stormy weather. 'My must-have cosmetic item is definitely waterproof mascara because of all the raining and typhoon going on recently,' Grogan said. 'However, when I'm not working, I try not to wear makeup, but I wouldn't leave the house without putting on concealer.'
