Nineteen meat samples contain sulfur dioxide at levels between 10 ppm and 2,100 ppm, the Centre for Food Safety said. The tainted 15 beef and four pork samples were among 272 fresh, chilled or frozen samples collected. The chemical is used as a preservative. Selling fresh, chilled or frozen meat with preservatives is an offence.
